Yesterday we picked up a rental car and headed for The Great Ocean Road. In route we saw acres and acres of vineyards. This is also beef and sheep raising land. There is excellent cheese to taste and purchase as well as the wine.
The Great Ocean Road is approximately 180 miles of incredible Southern Ocean coastline along the southern edge of the state of Victoria. There are limestone cliffs that are remarkable. One of the most famous spots are the "Twelve Apostles" which we saw today. They are an array of limestone formations out in the ocean. There is lots of history here with many shipwreck on this rugged shore.
We have a great spot to stay tonight in Apollo Bay right on the ocean. We will take our time the next two days as we move on this coast which is supposed to be one of the best coastal drives.
The temperature has been great since we arrived in South Australia and Victoria. Less humid and temps in the upper 70's.
