Today we took a tour of Fraser Island which is off the coast from Hervey Bay. On our way we spotted a number of kangaroo in a field. It was a 40 minute ferry ride to begin the tour. Fraser is the largest sand island in the world at about 75 miles long. It is very unusual because it has 5 Eco systems on the island including a rainforest. Today we traveled from Byron Bay to Hervey Bay. This stretch took us north of Brisbane into Queensland. Brisbane was one area that had been flooded and we could not see any damage from Bruce hwy. There are lots of rivers but most were within their banks. We stopped at Maroochydore for lunch. The Coral Sea is warm and at this point coming in huge waves and surf. We saw lots of fruit fields.
