Today we traveled from Byron Bay to Hervey Bay. This stretch took us north of Brisbane into Queensland. Brisbane was one area that had been flooded and we could not see any damage from Bruce hwy. There are lots of rivers but most were within their banks.
We stopped at Maroochydore for lunch. The Coral Sea is warm and at this point coming in huge waves and surf.
We saw lots of fruit fields. Pineapple, mango, banana, strawberries.
We arrived at Hervey Bay this afternoon and are taking a tour of Fraser Island tomorrow.
Again the birds in the campground are amazing. They look like parrots. They seem to gather at sunset and make lots of noise and then fly off together.
