We started our day with a backstage tour of the Opera House. It was very interesting and fun to see the complex operation to put on a production. It literally has over a 1000 rooms. Sting was performing on the outdoor stage tonight but sold out.
We took the ferry to Manly beach but was it was sooooo hot today that we stayed a short time as we are already a bit sunburned. Sydney is breaking records with high temps. Today was again close to 100 degrees.
Randy went to the Maritime museum and I did bit of shopping.
Tonight we went to the Sydney Tower for dinner in the revolving restaurant with a great view.
Obviously the news here is constant updates of the cyclone damage. The eye of the storm missed Cairns so they feel fortunate for that populated area. The Cairns airport will be open with all flights tomorrow. However there were some small towns hit hard. Mission Beach which we had heard was a great little community was devastated. The banana and sugarcane crops heavily damaged.
We take off tomorrow to pick up the camper van and will make the Blue Mountains our first destination. We will be probably be without Internet for some time. Just not certain about where we'll pick it up along the way.

Jeanine As we freeze and are buried in snow, you are near roasting and near a cyclone! Where in the world is the calm, relaxing weather we all need? We wish you a safe journey with your camper van and will watch for further posts later.

Melissa Glad to hear the update. Hope you have fun on the next phase of the adventure. Don't forget your sunscreen and buy a dorky hat if need be! Remember, any word about the heat won't sit well with us in the states.
Debbie Jergens Hello again. I just needed to tell you that today, at 5:30pm, Madalyn Lily was born! Her parents are Brent and Ali who live at Milaca. We are so excited. Her brothers, Gabriel and Joshua are excited too. Have a great weekend with your camper van and look forward to hearing more about your adventures.
