Moana, Ria de Vigo
While in the Ria de Vigo, we have been to a town called Cangas, the Isla de San Simon, several strange anchorages and the little town of Moana twice, where we are again now, having sat out a windy bit of weather. A couple of pictures put up.. I have mentioned before the Spanish love of statues. Well, this is taking it to extremes. We came across a statue of a learned man, probably an early explorer, or a writer or something - we never did find out. At his feet are two divers with early sub-aqua gear on. The odd thing about these statues are that they are in the middle of the water, near where we were anchored off of San Simon. Very weird. The divers are only visible at low tide and are covered at high water. They are actually positioned at the end of a spit and at low tide people can wade out to them - we went in the dinghy - pictures from front and back.
We meant to go to Vigo itself, by little ferry from Moana. But we got sidetracked yesterday by Moana's terrific market, so meant to go today instead. Only to discover that the little ferry only runs on weekdays! But the sun is shining and it is set fair for a few days and better still, we have our permissions - navigacion y fondear nas Islas Cies! I care less about cities anyway, so instead we are off to the islands after lunch. Next upload from after the islands.
