Arrived in Phuket today. Didn't get to the hotel until about 2pm. Plane was delayed by 2 hours because of a passenger ill on board who had to disembark in Bangkok before we took off.
Sunset Resort Hotel has a great pool area for relaxing, room is basic but comfortable
After settling in we decided to rest, as it was raining. After the rain settled we headed into town to see what Patong is all about. Took 20 minutes to walk from the hotel, and weather really humid & hot. Wandered around taking in the night life, enjoyed some food then headed back to hotel.
Sunday 28th - had a relaxing day today, swimming, reading, sleeping, later caught shuttle bus to Patong, enjoyed Indian cuisine for tea.
Monday 29th - today we planned to catch the bus to Phuket town and have a look at the old parts. By the time we got to the bus stop we felt so hot the first offer of a taxi was difficult to refuse 500 baht ($16.00) for the 35 minute ride. The town was interesting, not hassled buy so many tourists and more of a place for the locals.
This afternoon we experience our first Thai massage - something we were told we must try! A good chiropractic workout. I kept thinking when we got out Rob would say "never having another one of those!" but he actually said it wasn't bad.
For tea we had Thai cuisine - lovely little place next to hotel watching the sunset with another cocktail.
