As I am writing this a man had to stop the bus driver because his son was about to wet his pants.....a lady is puking her guts out the window.....and in the back of the bus a policeman is roped together to a fugitive and his policeman friend has an automatic weapon to make sure he doesn't escape. Only in India.
I am still to this day wondering why the policemen decided to use public transportation to take the fugitive. It's very old-fashioned I think. We waited 30 minutes in the bus so the fugitive could eat lunch and smoke a cigarette. He really, really took his time.
I don't like when so-called holy men bless me then ask for exorbiant amounts of money. It's not very holy to me.
So I've been thinking about going vegetarian for a little while now. - India makes you really think about life and how you are living it. 6 weeks I went without any kind of meat, and the other day I really, really craved some meat!!! So, I go out to a mountain town about 2 hours away. It's so beautiful and shanti here - Shanti meaning peace in Hindi. I'm at this holy spot where two rivers meet with the Ganga, and this friendly brown cow climbs up the stairs. She looks into me eyes, gets closer, gets closer. So, I pet her behind the ears, and ske tries to lick me! Ahh! She tries again! Very close to my face. She just stares at me like she is in love. I tell her, I love you, but I have a girlfriend, so let's just be friends, and I pet her behind the ears again. Needless to say, I can't eat beef now. Maybe never again. Once you see how the cows are treated so well and holy here, it's hard committing to eat one.
