On the road by 8.00am and had a cuppa in Dubbo. A pair of grey wrinkllies came over for a chat and we found they were from Mareeba down south for a holiday. Two more new friends!
Lunch at Gulargambone and the countryside had been remarkably green for the time of the year. From here on the drought is very evident with everything very brown. The photo is in the Rotary park in Walget and the sign says keep off the grass (what grass). Very depressing town with bars on all the windows and not much happening.
Arrived in Lightning Ridge at 3.30 and proceeded to the bore pool. Soaks away the aches from the uneven roads. This caravan park is probably the best ever visited being just across from the pool and all new facilities. Off to see the opals tomorrow.
