We finally made it to Bangkok after 11 hours of slow torture. Dead legs, possible deep vein thrombosis, sweaty minds and bodies, and top notch plane food. We passed through customs with a beeze, obtaining a free 30 day visa in the process despite the lady at Heathrow giving us a fright. Once the doors open from the airport it was like stepping into a oven. 29'C, 80% humidity. We where very thankful for the fully air conditioned car transfer we had booked back home. Our hostel was exactly as it said on the tin. Just ignore the odd pube on the floor. It is in the commercial district (Silom), walking distance to Patpong night market, a tourist hub that offers food from all over the world, including 'Traditional English' dishes found at the local Irish pub. Glad to report no signs of flooding from the recent monsoon weather affecting Thailand. Good for us as we forgot to bring a brolly.
