We got to Krabi town after that lovely coach journey and stopped at Seatran's office and everybody was getting taxis from there to their accommodation. When we asked about ours, they told us that it was just around the corner and you could see the back of it from where we were stood. That was good news as we didn't have to bother with and pay for taxis!

The accommodation- the Greenery Hotel- was on a Main Street in the town which looked quite busy, there were shops up and down the street and a 7/11 pretty much next door. The hotel lobby looked quite fancy so we thought we had done really well! When we checked in they told us they only had twin rooms, no doubles left. The room was on the second floor and had an ensuite, TV, twin beds and a fridge. When we looked there was no safe like we thought we had paid for!! The room was pretty plain and could have done with a touch up, but it was simple and okay. There were quite a few flies in the room though which wasn't nice! We enquired about the safe and they told us that they had no more rooms left with them but that we could change room tomorrow- even though that's what we had paid for! The twin room was fine though to be honest, just annoying it wasn't what we had paid for.

We dropped our bags in the room and headed out for a mooch about the town- it was already about half 2. We got a map of just the town from reception and everywhere we asked, no where had a big map of Krabi, just one of the main bit of town, which didn't have much on. We followed the map though and found the Walking Street market that had stalls of all kinds of food and fruits. The food looked amazing and was soo cheap! Most things were like 10-20 bhat. We got a few nibbles, some pork sticks and some spring rolls and took a walk around. On a night they had another market just around the corner too.

We walked to see a temple, which was in big grounds and had bright dragons and gold linings decorating the stairs up to it. The temple gardens had big fixtures of elephants and tigers in it.

We walked along to the river front, which was quite mucky and looked quite worn down. We could see big limestone rocks in the distance which did look nice. The scenery here was very different to anywhere else we had been. This was the first town we had been to and it felt a lot different than been at a beach resort. I really enjoyed the change of scenery away from the beach. Here had the most Thai feel about it and we felt like we could experience their culture. It wasn't really full with many tourists which was a nice change and we could just appreciate and enjoy how the locals lived here. There were still quite a lot of people on scooters here but it was mainly the locals- it wasn't somewhere I would like to try ride. This was the first place with a proper road system, lanes and traffic lights! The traffic lights were very quirky and had big statues on them of eagles or a gorilla carrying the traffic lights!

After a mooch around town and around some shopping centres, we headed back to the room and got ready and then booked our next accommodation in Koh Phi Phi, which took us a bloody long time deciding (and arguing)!! In the end, the cheaper one that we decided we would then book that wasn't as nice became fully booked as we sat there messing around, so we had to book the next accommodation that we were looking at which was more expensive. Koh phi phi don looked expensive in general and the cheapest accommodation still wasn't that cheap. Our accommodation cost 4800 bhat for 3 nights, which is about £16 each a night- the most expensive accommodation yet! We knew Phi Phi would probably be a big hit to our money, but it did look nice!

For dinner we headed out to the night market, which was just around the corner. It looked amazing! There were rows of different stalls of foods and a square with a stage in, where somebody was singing live and loads of tables and chairs to eat your food at. This was definitely the place we could eat like kings for next to nothing!

We took 100 bhat (£2) each and started buying! We got sushi (5bhat- 10p each!), some fried battered chicken, and a some deep fried pork and rice as a main, with a donut each for after! And we only spent 100 bhat between us!! We sat and tucked into our food and enjoyed the live singing- it felt pretty surreal and it was just the Thai experience that I wanted! Not all the hustle and bustle tourist areas! We planned on sitting there until it shut at 9pm, but lightening started and soon after the heavens opened and it chucked it down! We thought it was pretty funny at first, but then we were drenched and it wasn't so funny! We went and found a bar for shelter and had some more beer before heading home for the night! Krabi seemed more a day time place- early mornings, early nights as everywhere shut early or were very quiet. There weren't really many bars either and it seemed to have more coffee shops! Was a good day in Krabi though, shame about the weather!!
