We were up at half 5 this morning! The earliest we have been up yet. Was a little bit of a struggle but not too much- just couldn't be bothered moving! We got sorted and headed down the pier for 6am to check in and get our tickets for the boat/coach with Seatron. Everything went as normal as possible with the boat. We both kept trying to sleep but it was so uncomfortable- plus the sun was rising so getting brighter and brighter. Nath had took his motion tablets in preparation but the boat was nothing like the last time. The sea was very calm and it was hardly bumpy at all for the whole time we were on it- phew! We stopped at other islands to let people on and off and then ended in Donsak- a mainland pier town.
When we got off the ferry we were sent over to get our coaches- which everybody off the boat was heading in the same direction- either to Krabi town or to some of the islands off Krabi. Two coaches turned up and the queue for us to get on was pretty big. It didn't look like everybody would fit on these two buses. We waited for one but that looked too full so we went over to the other, which looked exactly the same! All the staff seemed to be telling us different things! Somebody told us that another bus would be coming for the rest of the people so we waited. Then we were told that these were the only two buses so we needed to get on! We were about the last 10 people to get on now, which wasn't good as it was full! When we got on there was one seat left downstairs and upstairs seemed to be full. Nath sat in the seat and I perched on a box opposite. Clearly very safe! It got even better though! There was me and this couple perched on the box and just when about everybody was on the bus- one of the workers started fiddling in a cupboard behind me and whipped out a stool for me to sit on in the middle of the isle! Health and safety or what! It was hilarious! Sat for 3 hour on this plastic stool in the middle of the isle on a coach! Sounds about right for Thailand!
The bus didn't seem to take as long as expected but I was a bit annoyed that everybody else got to spread out and nap while I sat on this stool with my arse hurting! Nath kept offering to swap but I didn't want him getting any sort of motion sickness ha! Well, Krabi here we are...
