We get breakfast included with the accommodation here so when we get up on a morning there is a menu to chose from. It is either eggs, toast and fruit or apple or banana pancakes and fruit. I went for an omelette this morning and Nath went for the banana pancake. We both thought they were really nice! Very filling too! It was really nice as the woman owner cooked the breakfast for us and brought it to us on our porch for us to eat.
After breakfast we headed out to find somewhere for Nath to have his hair cut. We saw a couple of places but they were shut because it was a Sunday. We found one behind the main road down an alley that said they did haircuts. I think they would have done anything. Nath sat there in the chair and she started to dig some old looking clippers out of a drawer. She clearly hadn't used them in a long time! When she went to cut Naths hair they made a loud rattling noise which didn't sound good! It went from bad to worse from there on. She didn't have a blade 1 and when she was shaving his head she was barely taking any hair off and then saying is this okay? Nath told her to then do a 0 at the bottom and blend it into a 1 further up and then cut his hair on the top. She didn't really have a clue what to do, especially with the dodgy clippers! After completely taking his sideburns off, she ended up catching Naths head with the blade 0 and took a little line of his hair off so he kind of had a little bald patch! She knew her clippers weren't working and that it wasn't going good at all so she tried to dig some other old clippers out that wouldn't work when she tried to use them. She tried to charge them for a bit as it must have been years since she had used them but they still just kept going off when she started to cut his hair. The best bit was when she tried plugging them in to charge them and smoke starting coming off the rusty old clippers. Instead of giving up she gave them a sniff and persisted with butchering his hair. This went on for a while with her not really knowing what to do before she went back to the first old clippers and half finished the job with them. She then got her scissors and randomly snipped pieces off the top of his hair and admired her finished masterpiece! Nath had given up by this point and just wanted her to leave his hair well alone so he just said it was all fine and got the hell out of there, paying £3 on the way out!
We spent the rest of the afternoon trying to sort his hair out with his own shaver back at the room. I thought I was playing hairdresser but Nath wasn't impressed with my skills at all. He eventually settled for what we both could do with his clippers. I thought it looked the same as normal but what did I know! It looked fine anyway.
We went out for a late lunch at a nice cafe down the road with cushion seats and ended up sat there for like 5 hours until it was dark. Mr. Made had replied to my email and answered everything we wanted so we decided to go for the 2 day trip so he would be picking us up at 8am in the morning.
We did plan on going to the Monkey forest today but it was dark when we left the cafe so we just walked down to the entrance to have a nosy and decided to go another day. We walked up to near Nugraha 2 and found a nice looking restaurant to eat dinner at. Nowhere was really too expensive, even for western food. The prices for meals usually ranged from about 40,000 usually for Indonesian food and some western food, so it wasn't too bad. No where near as cheap as Thailand or anything though! After dinner we headed back to the room and got packed and sorted for our 2 day trip with Mr Made tomorrow! Really looking forward to it!! We have been trying to avoid telling the owners that we are going on a trip as he wanted to be our driver for the day and bring us places but he's too crazy! Plus we wanted a proper trip already sorted for us! Let's see what Mr Made will be like!
