Well I just arrived in Wellington this evening just over an hour late. We got stuck in a traffic jam just outside Taupo because a lorry was on fire or something? Didn't see what happened just lots of fire engines ad a couple of police cars! Apparently noone was injured which is lucky! It's really very hot and sticky here. It's not going to be easy to sleep as I've got quite a small room and there are 6 people in there. I got to see some amazing scenery today whilst on the coach. We saw lots of forest, farmland and mountains. Then as we came in to Wellington we saw the harbours. There's a lot of water here! It's really beautiful. Can't wait to explore! And I found Branston pickle in the supermarket so I've got cheese and pickle sandwiches tomorrow too! I can hardly contain myself!

Yesterday was my last day in Rotorua and I went to visit Wai O Tapu which was outstanding. I got the Geyser Link Shuttle there and they picked me up outside the hostel and we were taken to the geothermal park. Firstly we visited the mud pool which is the largest in the southern hemisphere. It was so cool! I love the mud pools they are just so gross with the bubbling, gurgling mud and they smell like eggs but they are just awesome! Next we went to see the geyser erupting which was actually a bit lame because they's not much water in the ground because they're having a drought (can't work out if I've spelt that right!) here. We then had 1.5 hours to explore the park itself. There's a self guided walk that you do around the pathways which you can't stray from or your legs would melt or something! It smelt rotten most of the way round but the sights were stunning. Pools with bright turquoise or yellow waters and bubbles and steam! Really very cool. I took loads of pictures but my camera couldn't pick up most of the bright colours so it doesn't look have as good as it was. I bought a couple of postcards as evidence that it really was that brightly coloured there!

We were taken back to Rotorua and I was back at the hostel by 1pm. I hung about at the hostel for a while and finished my book and then went to the Polynesian Spa to have a good soak. It was raining by this point but I didn't mind as it was quite nice and cooling while sitting in hot water. There was a big, deep pool which was 38 degrees and you could move about and swim a little bit in there then there were three other pools that were terraced and the water ran down from one to the other these got hotter as you went down and the water in there was alkaline hot spring water. There were also another three pools called the Priests Spa and these had acidic water containing radium that is supposed to be therapeutic. Well I don't know about that but it was certainly very relaxing! Some of the water was too hot though at 42 degrees. Couldn't stay in there for long my toes were burning! I stayed there for about 1.5 hours in total. My earing have turned black from the water as I forgot to take them out. I was told silver gets tainted by the receptionist and I took off my ring and watch but completely forgot about my earings! Never mind, good job they were cheap ones! They don't look that bad luckily since I don't have any others with me.

I had a lovely dinner that night of lamb chops, only slightly burnt, kumara, which is a type of sweet potato that the Maori introduced to NZ when they came from Polynesia, and salad. A proper Kiwi dinner! I was very proud to be eating proper food cooked by my own far hand might I add!

Okay might have to go to bed now as its 10.15pm and it being a Saturday night and me being such a party animal I'm absolutely knackered! I've been up since 6.50am since my coach left at 8.45am, and I was on the coach all day.

If it's still hot tomorrow I may go to the beach. If it's nastly I'll probably go to the Te Papa museum as it's looks really good and more importantly it's free! Genius! They're something really wrong about paying for museums!
