Today I went to Marineland. Arrived in time for the 10.30am show. First up were two common dolphins called Kelly and Shona. They did a load of tricks, like jumping up to hit balls etc. Next was Makea the Californian sea lion. He was massive, but he could also jump very high! After the show I had my photo taken with a Little Blue penguin called Onion. Onion had an ear infection and kept trying to nip me. I saw the other animals being fed, including two otters called Awatea and Maia. The majority of the animals here were brought in because they were hurt and then for some reason couldn't be released back into the wild. Also saw the Lilliput model railway that was at Marineland. Next stop was the National Aquarium of New Zeland, just a bit further along Marine Parade. It was a cool place, they had sharks, rays, a crocodile and kiwi's! They were the first kiwi's I'd seen. They are very cute and fluffy. After this I walked around Napier looking at all the really nice Art Deco buildings. Went to the pub in the evening - Rosie O'Grady's. Only stopped for one cos there were a load of really loud lads in there. Looked for somewhere else, but even though it was a Friday night Napier was absolutely dead!
