Booked up to do a sky dive today with my new roommate Clare. It's booked, weather permitting for 11am tomorrow. Weather was bad again, but decided to go for a walk - did the Spa Park/Hukka Falls walk, along the Waikato river. Went past Taupo bungee on the way to the start of the walk. Its over the Waikato river which is the most gorgeous green colour. Just after the start of the walk (which is supposed to take 45 minutes) was a hot stream that fed into the river, creating a little hot spa area. The water was so warm, especially compared to the river which was freezing. It was quite a trek to the falls, and it was raining the entire way. But it was worth the walk. The wide river is forced into a narrow channel then goes over a small waterfall. It a spectacular sight, and the water was a lovely light blue colour, which swirling white bits. Walked a bit further, but turned back as I was getting drenched. But the walk was well worth getting soaked for - the scenery is beautiful!
