Rachel's Travels...
Decided against staying in Auckland as I didn't like it too much. So cancelled the job interview and stopped flat hunting. On Saturday afternoon/evening I went to the Sky Tower in Auckland with Debbie. The Sky Tower is right in the centre of Auckland and is 328m high which is tghe tallest structure in the southern hemisphere. We got a lift up to the observation centre (it had a glass bottom panel which was really cool) which gives you an amazing view of the city. You can see for miles. We had a bite to eat in the cafe up there - I had a hot chocolate and a really nice passion fruit cheescake (but I had to pick the seeds off as they were nasty). We timed it so we could see Auckland in the day, but also see the sun setting. It was really beautiful and then all the lights of the city came on. We were probably up there for about two hours.
You could also do something called the Sky Jump from the top of the tower. This is a 192m tower based jump which lets you freefall down a cable for about 20 seconds. I saw someone do it while I was there, but I didn't fancy it myself, and also it costs about 80 quid.
