Arrived in Brisbane on the 23rd November.

I dumped my bags in the hostel and went to the Castlemaine XXXX Brewery to do the tour. The tour was good, Queensland seems like a very proud state.

At the end of the tour you get 4 schooners of differnet types of fourX, I sat with a middle aged couple from South west Australia, they gave me some of their drinks too as they were driving.

I called in at city backpackers hostel on my walk back, as I met a friend in Surfers who was staying there. ended up staying in their bar all night, doing kareoke was fun. Had to get a taxi back to my hostel as it was so far away!

The weather on thuesday 24th was bad, dull and rain. decided to do some shopping and sightseeing. went on the citycat on the river which was nice, then walked all the way to china town, but had nandos so it was worth it.

Got back to the hostel and 2 german girls who were in my room invited me to three monkeys cafe which apparently sells the best cake in brisbane. I went and got a slice of chocolate dianne cake it was nice. sat with 4 german girls a lad from surrey and a lad from denmark. just stayed in the cafe talking for a while then headed back to the hostel.

Saturday 26th November, went to Eagle Farm Races, spent all friday shopping looking for a fascinator to wear. glad we got dressed up as everyone was. it was a lovely day at the races.
