So I've pretty much had the coolest 3 days EVER! Stuff I've only dreamt of doing! On Wednesday morning I was picked up by victor, ubuh and Diana (the Mexican vet) in the wildlife rescue truck to began our 5 hr journey through the beautiful mountain ranges headed for sepilok... I started my 3rd week here in the bird unit.. Nothing to different to what ive been doing; cleaning, sweeping feeding etc. Except I've hanging with the hornbills, macaws, eagles, cockatoos and parrots! One of the cockatoos is ultra friendly and sits on your shoulder when ur cleaning their exhibit! So cute! Got to feed the pinkies (baby mice) to the hornbill... Once again I headed back to kota kinabalu (KK) for the weekend. I got there at lunch time, after saying my goodbyes to shida who was flying back to KL :(... I checked back into lavender lodge! Warm greeting from the girls as usual.. I headed up to the chillout lounge where I caught up with Shane and will (the guys I've been bumping into all Sabah).. This week I got to explore the hoofstock unit! So that's deer, bulls, buffalo and horses! So pretty much it involves cleaning up s***, hosing night stalls and feeding.. I have weekends off!!! So Back i go to KK for a bit of a relax and back to civilization reality check! Mumma (dinima- a new friend) kindly dropped me off at lavender lodge (my regular place in KK) and I went and grabbed a soy flatwhite from Starbucks, a Greek salad from secret recipe followed by a delicious oaty/crunchy cheesecake with ice-cream :) yumm!
