We booked an overnight trip in Phang Nga to do the famous sea area, but this meant getting up at 8.00 dropping our backpacks off at the guy who ran the tour's office for the night then onto the boat. We were taken around various rocks and caves, we stopped at one, were given a torch and let loose in a cave which was pretty cool. We had 4 other dutch people in our group who were pretty funny. Followed by lunch on a beach of a little island, it was a proper good lunch as wwell - sea food fried rice, pineapple and watermelon! After that was a ride to James Bond Island (as in the film Man with the golden gun!) this was crawling with tourists. We decided it was a good idea to swim around the island leaving our bags with some members of 'staff' of the kayak company thing. They had disappeared by the time we had got back. The followig day i realised i had been robbed of about 10,000 baht which i had taken out of the bank the day before to tie me over for a few days - those guys i reckon did the stealing. Oh well! Very annoying - we planned to dive the similian islands after phuket but aren't now as its really expensive and i lost about 150 pounds! That night we stayed in a Muslim fishing village on the water, really weird, pretty boring nothing ws going on therebut was really peaceful so we kind of liked it there.
The next day we were picked up about 9.00 taken to shore. Took a bus to Phuket town later that morning. We spent a day in Phuket town and really didn't like it so we moved to Patong Beach the next day which is part of Phuket and is ehat every body associates with Phuket. We have spent three days here now - its ok, really touristy & is the sort of place where you go with your family - not really abackpacker place. For thailand its really expensive aswell although the night life is good here and we thrashed a jet ski around yesterday which was absolutely awesome, it was during a mini storm so there were some nice waves to try and get some air off.
\Tomorrow we plan on going to Railay to do some rock climbing which should be interesting!
