Woke up at 6am, got a bus through to Tully and then up to the rapids. Signed my life away, had a quick demonstration and went straight into the water. The weather was brilliant and the water was freezing in the morning and there is no chance of staying dry because doing the extreme option as I did means they flip the boat at least once.
The first 3 km was intense, they drop you in the deep end and some of the rapids were crazy, there's a girl who bought all the pics so I need to get in contact with her.
The scenery was amazing, paddling down stream through tame rapids at certain points was great so you can take in all the views as your in the river of the rainforest.
There were certain points when the instructor would stop the trip and offer the chance to do some rock jumping and swim down the streams at certain points, there was a bit where there was a waterfall and you can swim down it but it's 7 metres deep so if you can equalise in time you surface quick but if you don't you can be under the water for up to 10 seconds so I opted out with two other ppl but the instructor jumped out and went down the waterfall so I had to line up an go down the waterfall in the raft with any supervision which was mad!
Got the coach back by 6pm and then it was body paint beer pong. I was thinking about not doingIt since I was tired off the rapids but, It looked fun so I said do whatever paint to me so I got a union jack on my torso and sunglasses and a moustache on my face. Had some agwa bombs and a few pints then went to woodshed! Don't remember much but it was a mint night.
