I heard some devasting news yesterday. I got back to the hostel after work and my friend Nicki came to find me. She sat me down and asked me if I had been on facebook. As you know, I have been working such long days that I don't have time to use the net anymore, so I asked her straight out what was wrong. She told me that on Saturday Ian, one of the lads I did Ozintro with in January was killed in a car crash on Fraser Island. I cannot explain how much this shocked me. I didn't want to believe her for one second.

I spent a few weekends with Ian in the UK prior to doing the Ozintro week in Sydney and can honestly say, hand on heart that he was one of the sweetest, most genuine guys I have ever met. I am so saddened to think that all of us Ozintro-ers came to Australia with the same goal in mind, to explore and that for one of us that dream has been cut short. I really wish I had gotten to know him more but I know that I am just lucky to have been one of the people that got to meet him.

I will never forget his smile. Rest In Peace Ian.
