Another late morning, we got up and headed out for breakfast. Leanne needed a break from the soups, rice and noodles so we went looking for a restaurant where we could get cereal. Cereal is one of those products one rarely finds, mostly they see cereal as only for babies and hence it is only baby cereal that they stock at shops. The first restaurant we found was a French bakery shop, they didn't have cereal but at least they had a croissant with New Zealand ham and cheese. We ordered and waited there for 15 minutes, before a lady came out to inform us they no longer had croissants. There wasn't much else we wanted so we got up and looked for another restaurant. We found one a little further down with muesli, mixed fruit and yogurt, evidently catering for Europeans.
Problem was both of us knew that the muesli would be minimal, although that is specifically what we had come for. I ordered the 3 eggs omelet on a baguette, when it came I was sure they had used quail eggs, so small was it. Leanne didn't have it any better, her muesli had turned out to be a teaspoon full, just enough to make it appear as though there was in actual fact muesli with the fruit and yogurt. The fruit wasn't all that mixed - sour apples, pear and banana but it wasn't noodles or rice so Leanne enjoyed it! We paid our dues and headed back to the hotel, it had started to rain again and our shoes still weren't completely dry! The rest of the afternoon was spent either applying for work and updating our blog or playing a few computer games, while Leanne finished her 1500 page book.
For lunch we headed once more to the market, Leanne was able to wrestle down the rice and noodles that both of us had started reaching our fill of. After lunch we spent considerable time on the deck watching the rain clouds while we enjoyed our coffee sashes, with their mix of coffee, sugar and coffee creamer. We played a few hands of cards before I returned to work again. Leanne was able to read a little longer before a German couple also sat outside. She chatted to them for considerable time about their treks in Nepal as well as other places they had been. Turns out they had been traveling for 1 ½ years through South America, Europe, Australasia and Asia and were planning to end their travels after another 6 months. The evening was uneventful and we caught up with the news of what was happening with our families, we were able to spend considerable time chatting to them over skype and for once the lines were stable.
