30 July: Sapa
Another day of rain, unfortunately we still had a lot of admin to do. Our clothes, poncho's, shoes and bags were all drenched in mud. We spent the morning washing and hanging everything out to dry, we weren't the only ones, the balcony was practically full of shoes and tops hung out to dry. After which we went down for breakfast at the market.
After having constant troubles with our internet and rather trying to work at the hotels computers with all the guests standing in a queue waiting we left for lunch. The rest of the afternoon was spent applying at PWC and calling Dell service agents in the US and sending 2 page mails to them explaining the problems with the laptop and how we weren't willing to fly to Singapore to replace the laptop. I left the KPMG application till later after finding out that the online application would take at least 1 hour per their estimate and it contained a thorough psychiatric evaluation in addition to the usual academics and what are your goals spiel.
When the time came for dinner we were both parched, the two dishes of rice and noodles weren't enough. We walked through SaPa town during the sunset and sniffled through a wine and chocolate shop, almost buying a bottle of either French, Californian or Australian wine, but it wasn't to be. We walked further to a bakery and bought two warm coconut loves. Returning to the hotel we sat on the balcony enjoying our tasty morsels.
