Up with the normal routine then to class just before 09h00, where we were joined by a German girl (Anne) who was starting with her 3 day course. I had been having difficulties with the laptop for the last few days seeing as one of the software programs I bought in Koh San in Bangkok, had a virus. Jane's boyfriend from Italy was a graphics designer and I figured he would be able to assist trying to get the virus off, seeing as our antivirus program didn't work. It took him 30 minutes to run his antivirus on my system and remove the virus, the results were immediate, the CPU occupancy went from 100% to 3%!
We continued with our course, today was more a revision than a class. We had 2 minutes to study an array of pictures of positions before our books were closed and we had to reproduce the positions and the relevant massage techniques. In all honesty we faired really well, only being corrected on minor details. We were shown some new pressure points and headache techniques, before we had to practice the previous work on each other.
Lunch again was a mixture of Thai traditional cooking with pork and chicken, the only exception being a dish with chicken blood, which I can only describe as small brown blocks in the dish. I was only told this after eating the dish of course, but it wasn't that bad, Leanne had however wisely avoided the delicacy.
After class we went to freshen up before meeting Anne, to find out more about Laos and Nepal. Initially we had decided to give Laos a skip, but we had heard so many good stories, that we were contemplating changing our travel program to visit its untouched natural beauty. After an hour of chatting and looking at photos we went our separate ways. We headed for the market where we bought more water, deep fried chicken, Som tam, a papaya and another unknown but very sweet fruit. The rest of the evening was spent lounging on the deck of our accommodation reading and relaxing our muscles.
