Early this morning we left the Hyatt Regency Chesepeake and River Marsh Marina. We had an amazing sendoff last night. Around 7pm a storm front came through giving us 50 knot gusts, heavy rain and lots of lightening. Definitely an "Old Testiment" storm. The lightening lasted until about 4:30 this morning. I was afraid the lightening would interfere with our early departure.
Fortunately it was all calm and we shoved off the dock around 7:15 traveling 53 nautical miles that took us 5 hours and 15 minutes. Seas were calm, wind was calm so it was a pleasant trip. This was the longest leg of our trip home.
We arrived at Tolchester Marina and slid into our "normal" slip here The T Head, North side. It's an easy docking and exit from this slip. We also like it for the view we get of the amazing sunsets here. First Mate Caroline already has her camera ready for tonight's expected sunset!
Tomorrow we cast off for the final leg of our journey ending our vacation at BBYH. We hope to arrive around noon for this 2 1/2 hour journey home.
