Today, sadly we left Spring Cove Marina on Solomans Island. The staff and facilities were excellent. We will highly recommend Spring Cove to all our fellow boaters.
Solomans Island had a good number of fantasric restaurants that included free shuttle service to Spring Cove. We can highly recomment The Lighthouse Restaurant.
As we left Back Creek and entrered the Patuxent River I saw someting in the water that at first I thought might be a log. Just then, not fifteen feet off my bow two Dolfins came out of the water and crossed our bow! I immediately called for Caroline who loves Dolphins and she got to see them in our wake jumping. A sign of a good journey for sure.
This was the most pleasaant trip we have had on this trip. The waters were calm, the wind was very light and out of the south. The only issue was it was a VERY hot day. I had to drink lots of water and step away from the helm on occassion to rest and dry off from sweat.
The run took about 4 hours and we easliy found our next stop. We are at the Hyatt Regency Chesepeake in Cambridge, Md.
What can I say, the facilities here are top shelf. The hotel has four restaurants, three pools and two hot tubs! Caroline and I ( and we hope our new Dolphin friends followed us) are looking forward to the next two days here.
