I awoke this morning feeling refreshed and able to face the world of over landing again. I got up, packed up my tent and went and sat in the bar to wait for Dixon, who had paid for a cheap hotel room. We headed off for our destination, home: Arusha.
At 1pm I had Dixon pull over so I could do my skype call to Med Experience with the African 3G. It went for over an hour so I'd say it went pretty well. We then continued on to Arusha, stopping yet again for beef and rice for lunch. We arrived at the WHO (headquarters) at about 4pm and I met one of my bosses, Dave "taxi" Osborn. I sat down with Dixon to sort out the accounts, something I normally would have done as I went, but having received no instructions on what I was supposed to do, I did them all the wrong way around and then got instructions at the last minute.
Dave sat me down and briefed me about the next couple of days in which I am meeting four clients in Nairobi. Turns out the shuttle, is a tourist shuttle run by a posh hotel here in Arusha, that I can live with. I was glad that now, mercifully I had been given some kind of instructions and was not heading into this trip blind. I had dinner, which was a kind of chicken stew….thankfully not beef and rice again and went to bed in my own room. It's good to be home, even if only for the night.
