Another day started by waking up on a moving train, my first thought this morning actually is that we were running quite late. I had woken up at 5am and we were passing a stop that we would usually pass in the middle of the night. I was right, we were about an hour behind schedule.
We arrived into Prague at about 7am and walked to Hotel Europa, where we were met by a usual stroppy unhelpful member of staff that said we could check in at 9am. So I told the group to leave their luggage and then headed to my delicatessen for crab on toast for breakfast.
Breakfast took about an hour and then we went back to the hotel and checked straight in. I gave the group an hour to freshen up and had one of the best shower ever and then went out on our first orientation tour. The orientation took about an hour and at the end I stopped for coffee in my favourite café overlooking the small old town. I then went back to the hotel for a nap and the group went up to see the castle.
I realized I was going to be at a bit of a loose end in Prague this time round, I usually spent my time in Prague camped out at the train station trying to get tickets for my next tour, but as this is my last tour, I didn't have to do that.
At about 7pm Andy came and knocked on my door and asked me if I wanted to go out on a pub crawl with him. Silly question. I got dressed and Andy, Tim and I went down to the main square to find one. The one we picked didn't start until 9pm, so we had an hour to kill. After I had run back to the hotel to drop off my stilettos, which I had worn despite the cobble stones, we had a bit of dinner in a pub. We joined the tour and were taken to the first stop, the vodka bar. An underground pub full of communist memorabilia, with an open bar.
We were there for a good two hours, I started on beer, and we brought free vodka shots, I had rum, whiskey and some yellow shot I couldn't really identify. We then moved on to our next pub, another underground place, with free shots at the door. Andy and I actually got up and danced at this one and I drunk messaged Tim, my bestie in Australia, I always miss him at times like these.
We moved on a couple more times and things got a little bit hazy, I do remember the next pub, but only because they had absinthe shots in test tubes at the door and because I went to use the bathroom and the room was completely black tiled, with loud music pumping through it. The one toilet was locked and someone banged on the door and screamed, STOP DOING DRUGS AND GET OUT, PEOPLE NEED TO PEE! I thought that was a bit mean, until five girls stumbled out of the toilet obviously all off their faces. I managed to get up and dance on a podium for a few minutes before it was time to go again.
We headed to our last destination, a club called the temple, an old church converted into a nightclub, it was really cool, but the music was pretty bad to we decided to leave. Andy, our instigator decided to call it a night at that point and Tim and I went off to Coyote's. we stayed there for about an hour, owing to the fact that they were playing some pretty decent music, including a bit of Korn, I even managed to get Tim to dance. We headed back to the hotel, and stumbled into our respective rooms at about 4am.
