Im in a restaurant across the road from Lau Cai train station and were waiting for a 9pm overnight train to take us back to hanoi, we left Sapa this morning at 9 30am and it was really foggy and it was pouring down rain but we said bye to the canadians and we were intinding to ride past Lao Cai and ride to Yen Bai and on to Hanoi the next day but plans change, after we got out of Sapa the rain stopped and it cleared up it was so nice to be back on the bikes riding but about 30km out of Lao Cai we had a big problem, i was riding ahead of daniel and it was a main road we were riding on and daniel was behide me and then i herd our head sets disconnet and he wasnt behind me, so i turned around and 200 meters behind me was daniel standing on the side of the road and his motorbike was one the ground, he had some how come off the road and hit a concrete gutter and some how he was just a little dazed but he was fine, the whole front of the bike was gone the suspension had broken off and the tyer was all mangeled but thank god he was ok, some guys came and helped take it to the next town which was 4km down the road, i called the place where we got the motorbikes from and got a translator, we had no intention of fixing the bike it had to much damage, so we sold it for $40 some one put daniel on a scooter and we meet at the local train station, he had a head ake and his sholder was sore but he was fine, i found out that the train that came threw that town only picks up passangers and i needed to load my bike on the train aswell so we had to get back to lao cai so that i could put my motorbike on the train all the way to hanoi, i found a taxi and put daniel it the taxi and i followed on my motorbike, and we got to Lao Cai at 2pm had lunch and got a hotel for a few hours and had a lie down and a shower and i went and got the train tickets and took my bike to get it loaded up in one of the carrages now were just waiting to get on, and we get to Hanoi really early in the morning, and ill sell my bike when i get there, so i can only thank God that Daniel is ok and it could of been alot worse than it was, but tomorro we will be back in Hanoi and work out where we go from then.
