It's 7 50pm and we have just settled in to a hotel for the night, there is no Internet here so I'm using the off exploring app on my I phone, we found a hotel in Lang Son tucked away in a ally and it's only 10 a night and it's a pritty shifty joint there is no Internet and no one speaks any English all it really has is two beds and the toilet keeps flushing it's self every few minutes and I think the walls are made of paper, but anyway we left Cat Ba at 8 and put some red bull I'm my unicorn and rode as fast as we could to make the 9 o'clock ferry off the island we made it just in time and after 1.5 hours we were back on the mainland. From here we headed north towards Tien Yen the road had become narrower and there was hardly any traffic the road from Tien Yen the Long Son got interesting, or should I say the lack of road there were holes every where we could barely ride over 40 km/hr along the way we meet two Israeli guys that were heading towards ha long bay so we stopped and had a chat they had been riding in the north for over a month and had the same bikes as us, we kept on riding and the road gradually improved and we would wave to most of the people we were riding past, at first they would have a confused look on their face, but then they would crack open a smile and wave back, we stopped for lunch on the side of the road we had some pork which was good, the rest of the road improved and so did the scenery, we were now riding threw rice fields and everything was green and the locals were the ones waving at us as we rode passed it was all good till it started to rain and then it got better I quickly rock shelter in some guys front porch and got my wet weather gear on had some random guy start speaking to me in Vietnamese I think he was trying to explain to me that it was raining, but it was pritty obvious anyway back on the bikes and threw the rain we ride it was awsome in the rain after about 15mins the rain stoped and we got into Lang Son and found this crappy hotel, we went to try and find something to eat and after about 1 hour of walking around we found some people cooking chicken feet with bread on the side of the road they had some skewers with chicken on then and they were cooking bread using coals so we sat down and the food was amazing we just kept eating dainel had a go of cooking the bread and the Vietnamese were all laughing we ate till we were full and headed back to the hotel were going to try and leave tomorro at 7 we want to try and ride all the way north to Cao Bang and have time to stop along the way the scenery is supposed to get a lot nicer the further north we ride ....
