The great golf challenge at the Greg Norman Vintage Course in Hunter Valley ends in an honourable draw with three holes won each and three holes halved. Must admit young Phil had me cold with a brilliant birdie on the eighth alongside the water putting his tee shot to within 6 feet. He then hit his drive of the day leaving me in a fairway bunker. Then came the Les shot of the day with a seven iron out of the bunker with distance allowing the green to be reached in 3. Phil found the trees by the golf cart with hisc second and failed to recover on to the fairway allowing Les in for the hole and a halved match. The Vintage is probably the best course we have both played. Rhi and the girls went swimming and a splashing time was had by all. Off to the tempus two vineyard tonight for a Japan Thai restaurant meal. Bye all

Hi everyone from Les & Mumsie with Lynne, Nannie, and of course the intrepid travelling non blogging Rhi & Phil. They tell me they are still working on the Melbourne draft but won't let me see it. Part of our way through our second day in the Hunter Valley and back in the villa preparing for our second aussie bbq, porterhouse steaks, lamb fillet and big bag of salad, lebanese bread, with oven chips for Rhi & Phil. Yesterday we spent the whole day wine tasting on a tour courtesy of relatives Glenys, Graham & Jane on mumsie's side of the family. Good job Graham did the driving cos it was a full on tasting tour. Phil discovered he doesn't really like wine, but did down the chilli schnapps called Dragon's breath in one as we all did. We are off to see the sea at Nelson Bay tomorrow before the big golf challenge later in the week, better give Phil some more schnapps the night before. Bye to all for now
