Well i leave Noosa tomorrow after a great two weeks here working in the kitchen and generally having a fantatic time. The kitchen work has been really good as iv learnt loads more about cooking and how to use a microwave, a few more recipies to add to my list. As much as it was, i dont think i could ever work full time doing something similiar. The pressure of getting meals out on time, the hassle of complaints and having to constantly multi-task was all a bit too much for me at times. All this pressure did cause me to make misstakes at times but i dont think many people noticed (luckily). A few of the things i did wrong included; giving meals an hour late, serving lasangne cold in the middle and making ceaser salad with tatar sauce...the salad was all eaten with out complaint however.
Since yesterday was my last working day i took a holiday today and visited the Australian Zoo and hour and a half South, if you dont recognise the name its the one that made Steve Erwin famous! Iv just got back and had a fantastic time. It kicked off this morning at 5:30 when my alarm clock woke me two hours early, so feeling a little tired now, but had lots of time to prepare. The free courtousy bus took us there just in time for the main show! This included snakes, parots, birds of prey and crocodiles! Really good show (if a little cheesy) and made even funnier when a flock of white parots who were meant to land on some of the audiences arms took of into the distance much to the shock and dismay of thier trainer. The highlight of the trip was the croc feeding however as it was amazing to see how big, fast and strong they were. After the show i went to see LOADS of animals, eat an over priced lunch and have a photo with a koala! To cap the day i got to see an unplanned feeding of the largest crocodile in the zoo, 16ft long! It was great to see such a huge animal attacking the food the keeper was holding but a little worrying to hear him shout 'whoa!' when the croc shot out the water. All in all a great day but im in need of good nights sleep and some free food from the kitchen.
Off to Brisbane tomorrow to stay with a girl i know called Beth then on down to Byron Bay after a day and a half. Im sorry to be leaving Noosa as its probably the best place iv visted so far, the people are friendly, i have a great job, theres a beautiful national park and im staying in a brilliant house but i have to move on and see other things. I just hope the rest can live up to here.
