Today we were up early to have breakfast one last time at our hotel (still alone and no one else had checked in yet) and then we got a lift from the manager to the airport. Once at the airport and checked in we had a look around some of the small shops there and Christina bought a few gifts and we headed off to the Bangkok Airways lounge for free drinks and snacks and played dominos until it was time to board the plane to Bangkok.
Arriving at Bangkok airport for the second time of our trip we were a bit more wiser and didn't book a transfer to the hotel as we knew we could get a bus transfer to Koh Sarn Road for a couple of pounds each. Arriving at Koh Sarn Road we were immediately approached by tuk-tuk drivers wanting to take us to a hotel but we knew where we were going so headed straight there on foot. Arriving at the Green House Hotel, they had a big "20% off all rooms" board outside due to the problems in Bangkok the week before and it being very quiet. Great, an even cheaper room for us then, thank you red shirts!
We booked in for two nights and although very basic, just a bed, toilet/shower room and A/C it was very cheap and cost around £5 per night, but that was all we needed. It was time to start slumming it as from here onwards I was going it alone and having to start staying in hostels and dorm rooms to keep my expenditure down to a minimum.
