After arriving in Sihanoukville yesterday around 2pm, we headed straight to the beach after checking in. It is literally a minute walk to the beach which we are loving. It's not the worlds greatest beach but it's a beach all the same and it''s exactly what we need. We walked the full length of the beach and back again checking out the place. There are many resturants and bars that are huts stretching the length of the beach so we picked one and sat down to grab some grub and a cold beer. We have been amazed with the price for the drinks here and we were only paying 25cents for draft beers last night. It's really livley round here too and full of other backpackers and people who have set up business here which is great for meeting people and picking up tips.
On the beach you still have the same old thing with kids asking you to buy their bangles or fruit or books but we are professional at saying "NO" by now. Still get's you a bit cheesed off from time to time especially when you just want to relax. Up and down the beach too there are women carrying large trays of cooked lobster and you can buy three for $10. Haven't bought any yet but is on the list of things to do as they look delicious. We moved further up the beach after our food/pester to buy things session and found a great little bar that is hidden away called 'Above us only sky' that is on stilts and rissen up from the ocean. Great staff and great people sat around the bar too. We got talking to three blokes who were having the time of there lives, a Austrailian, a South African and the other one was from a really tropical place called Manchester. That night we went out for drinks around the area as we had been told of some great places to visit. Monkey Republic, Utopia and Pleasure. Utopia was cool it had a swimming pool and hot tub right next to the bar and we got free drinks on arrival and they also brought us some chips wraped in newspaper for free too which was pretty sweet. In Pleasure we partied on till the small hours sipping cocktail and groving to the tunes whilst you could still see the sea that was about 10 meters away.
Today we were up and out nursing sore heads at 8am as we were going on a boat trip around three of the islands just off the coast. We paid $15 each that included breakfast and a BBQ lunch on one of the islands so great value for money. We boarded the boat around 9am and set off for our first island. We are unsure of the name but we snorkled for around half an hour and it was totally fab, mint, choss, class. Loved it and the waters were super clear. Moving on to the next island that we do know the name of, Bamboo Island, that was a little nuget of paradise. Crystal clear waters, white sands, Coconut trees swaying in the light breeze and the sun shine to go with it. We set off on foot around the long stretching beachs of the island and enjoyed every second of it. Just what we needed. At 12pm we had lunch of BBQ fish with salad. Not sure what type of fish it was but it tasted great and the portions wernt bad either. We took a short walk to a beach on the other side of the island that was great but there were dead fish floating on the shore and in the sea everywhere you looked. Not sure why and didnt really want to go in the water so we had a walk about and headed back to where are boat was moored and lay in the sun with our feet in the calm sea for the next hour.
We left Bamboo Island and sailed to our last port of call for the day. Again we forget the name of the island but this was to do some more snorkling diving. Out of all the people on the boat, only me and a Polish bloke done it. Even Ashleigh bottled out. It was good but not as good as the first site for snorkling and afterwars I was knackerd as I was swimming in choppy sea's by then. Getting back to the main land around 4pm we headed straight to our favourite bar 'Above us only sky' for a post day trip cocktail.
We are taking it easy tonight and are on the lookout for cheap crab for something to chew on. We have another day here and are then looking at moving on to Kampot which is only a two hour drive away. Will keep you posted when we can.
Love Peter and Ashleigh x

Andy not going to kill myself any more cole That's better, I nearly fell off my chair 25 cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sun, seas, fish, cocktails, crab meat. Holy s***. Talking of holy s*** the pope is doing his rounds of England today to the tune of 12 million quid of our money that’s 3 million a day peter and Ashleigh three bloody million a day. Now how many 25 cent beers can you get with that? Religion man I ask you. Surely anybody reading your travels must agree you don’t need a heaven when you have love and a planet like ours! These religious folk are off there heads, mere fools. I really hope some one pulls his cloak owa his heed and gives him an atomic wedgy and a ruddy good punch on the bottom! Should hear the fools’ beliefs man, that s*** might have washed hundreds of years ago but religion has no place in today’s world. Fact. Any who in other news... ... I have just finished a quarter stottie (aye bet you can’t get one of them bad lads where you are) full of bacon double eggs and chopped tommies with added chilli. I am going to see a dude about delivering pizza tomorrow night al see how it goes but I'm thinking chinese delivery is better as a favour that for my free scran, we shall see. Oh and my black jeans came up a treat with that dye your ma sorted me out with Ashleigh top marks! Erm, what else? I got a new phone that lets me use the internet all the time as I'm away a lot next month so al be able to keep in touch where ever I go which is rather swell. Oooo and I am playing in bens band with matty and crew. We have had one practice so far which is every Sunday morning and I must say it took no time to nail two songs. I have just got off the pot with a new tune I intend show them with another couple I had floating about. I really enjoyed it. It's nothing like the burden and I'm writing to there style of music which is completely different to what I normally churn out but I love the challenge! Oooo ooo ooo and I'm going to record vocals on the stuff we recorded at wor David’s and send them about al email you the mp3 when they are finished. He wants to work with me also which I am very excited about so I'm going to sort out a practice with him and wor Joe to see what we can rustle up. Love each other, the people, and your surroundings. I miss you both. Toodlies. Andy ;0)
