Hi All

We are now in Phi Phi, an Island off Krabi. We arrived by ferry which was very busy, it seems that everyone wants to go to Phi Phi. When we got there we could understand why, it's one of the most beautiful islands we have been on. The first thing we noticed that there were no motor vehicles, everyone rides around on push bikes!

We booked ourslves into a lovely hotel, partly because we deserved to and also because most accommodation on the island was booked out.

On our first day in Phi Phi we decided to go kayaking, it's actually not that hard, well considering Pauric was doing all the rowing. We rowed to an island called Monkey Island which is meant to have wild monkeys on the islands but when we get there we didn't see any.

So after chilling around by the pool for a few days, we decided to do a day trip. We went on an island hopping tour and the first stop was Maya Bay, this is where the Movie The Beach was filmed. It was absolutely gorgeous. However the ferry could only go so far because of low tides so we had to Kayak to the actual beach itself. When we got there we nearly injured a few people on the Beach as we couldn't control the Kayak with the waves. Anyway we eventually stopped by hitting a big rock and nearly falling out!

On the trip we could also take part in snorkelling, Pauric loved snorkelling as you can see by the photos! He took to it like a duck to water!

On the 27th at about half 4 we heard a loud siren , we looked out our window to see hundreds of people running through the streets. We did panic a bit and went to see what was going on, it was a Tsunami warning.The fear on the faces of the Thai people said enough and the whole of the island fled to high ground. There were people on roof tops and up in the mountains it was mad, and although it came to nothing in the end it was pretty scary, an experience to say the least.
