Day 106. This morning we spent walking around the beautiful town centre of Ballarat, the old 1860s buildings show that this was a town built on prosperity through gold. Solid decorated bank buildings, a Gold Exchange, prominent Town Hall, Art Gallery, Trades Hall, Theatre, large Victorian railway station together with Victorian mansions and beautiful gardens and flower boxes make this one of the most beautiful small cities we have visited. Day 105. Sunday breakfast of pancakes and maple syrup and then we departed Naracoorte onto the Wimmera Highway heading east. We soon crossed the border into Victoria and continued through the Wimmera Region with its vast wheat, cereal and legume crops and lamb and beef herds.
