Why i hate milan.....
We woke up in the morning and headed for breakfast. It was a buffet style and was actually quite good. I had a text off emily telling me the airports where shut due to the ash cloud, damn we were off to egypt tomorrow. Reception confirmed that the airport was shut until 2pm so there was nothing we could do so headed out.
We went for a tram to town but everyone was getting off and no one was allowed on. This happened three times we gave up maybe me spinning on the bulls balls wasnt good luck at all. We walked all around milan and ended up back in the centre the santa maria was open and a ceremony was on. We went into the church and the priest was giving his cermon, every so often the choir kicked in. Outside of the church a live concert was on, i went out to listen , the group where quite good, definetly more entertaining then church. We watched for a bit and went for lunch at macdonalds.
After lunch we went to find a pub to watch the inter game, we walked for ages, every bar we walked to didnt have the game on, not even a tv. So we jumped on the metro to the public park and walked round. It had a load of ponds with giant fish in and a garden festival going on. The sun was out and everyone was out with their kids. We walked out of the park and stumbed into a coach with ratti tours on the side. Obviously david rattigan got bored of the shared service business and was doing tourist tours round milan. We carried on walking and ended up at a sunday market on the buenes aires street. This street was full of local stalls selling huge cheeses and local hams, pastries etc, we still didnt find a pub with a tv though! We did see a thief rob something then run, in true italian justive style someone ran after him and twated him in the face. Two minutes later the cops walked over and arrested the thief.
I was started in hate milan, the town is confusing, the overground trams dont work or tell you what the stop is, everything is covered in tomatoes, you cant watch football in any pubs? Dont get me wrong the place has some great features the santa maria church was impressive, the public park in the city is relaxing and a real hidden gem. The buenes aires market with the vigilanties, a decent kebab house and a stall called the god fathers were i bought a chocolate pastry was also superb. Maybe its me, maybe being 25% italian in a city that is the fashion capital is just not enough!

Dave Hughes There is only you who could hate a city like Milan on the basis of its lack of pubs with a TV!!!
paul you must agree though, intermilan currently on the way to be european champions, but not bar to watch it in? come on. ha
ian crompton Lets be fair though pubs and TV are an essential especially when your local team could complete a treble.
