Tassie was awesome!
We had beautiful weather at Wineglass Bay and visited Bruny Island where we stuffed ourselves at a cheese-ery. We went to a performance of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra in one of the historic buildings at Port Arthur. We had horrendous, cold and windy weather in Strahan, and luck was with us at Cradle Mountain when the sun was shining and the top of the mountain was dusted in snow. Tasmania is definitely a beautiful place. We had a great time here, camping in a borrowed "30 second" tent for the most of it, apart from a night at Bruny Island where a storm blew in before we set up camp and we decided to stay in a cabin. Then again at Cradle Mountain when there was snow on the ground when we arrived… cabin again. Tasmania certainly didn't disappoint us, both with the scenery and in the weather department.
One day we will return, hopefully with a caravan or something similar so we can spend more time here and enjoy the extremes of weather a bit more.
The trip back to Victoria on the boat was much more pleasant, as we decided to lash out and get a cabin, with beds! Great idea!!
Now, we are back in Victoria. It seems our bank account is telling us that we need to get some work, so we are going to rent a house in Traralgon, get jobs and see where that leads.
Our trip for the past 12 months has been a "trip of a lifetime", but something tells me that there will be more than one of them in our lifetime…
