Paul's World Tour
Hi everybody from Cairns
Its great to be back in the tropics again and the weather is really hot and sunny. Our days here consist of sitting by the pool, chillin out and getting a sun tan.
Our last few weeks in Melbourne were really cool. My good friend Paul Crichton from Scotland came to Melbourne on holiday with his girlfriend Adele. As you can see from all the photos, we did lots of touristy stuff around the city which was nice.
The weather was good so we chilled out around St Kilda Beach, which is where Amy and I were living. Paul C, Amy and I were brave enough to go on the roller coaster at Luna Park - scary because its the oldest wooden roller coaster in the world and it doesn't look like its had a day of maintenance in all that time! We also went up the obervation deck on the 55th floor of the Rialto Towers in the city to catch the sunset.
Other stuff we did included going to Melbourne Jail which we had been highly recommended to see by Amy's sister who raved about it. My verdict of Melbourne Jail involves me doing an impression of Simon Cowell and saying - "distinctly average"!!!!
A much more pleasant experience involved going for a drink in the historic chloe's bar where you can see the painting of chloe. Its a painting of some naked french chick and as you can see from the photos its all done in the best possible taste. Just be careful if you are viewing the photo on your work computers - there is a reason why it was considered to raunchy for its time to put in any of the museums in australia in the olden days but it is a respected piece of art - honest!
Final day in Melbourne and its off to a garbage concert - it doesnt get any better than that - except it does 'cause when i phoned up to buy tickets they were giving away 2 tickets for the price of 1 - sweet as!
Till next time, take care and best wishes!
Paul
