The day started early with both Paige and I both getting up at 5am....she in Austin, me in Houston. Luckily, we both had first class to Seattle, so it makes the early morning wake-up call a bit more palatable. Our 4 hour flight was uneventful with Paige sleeping, doing word games and watching the beautiful mountains over Colorado. I actually utilize flights for working uninterrupted (thanks United for no wifi...I am being sarcastic), so got a bunch of work done and felt totally productive!
After landing, we drove south to see my dad, Mary and new puppy CoCo in Olympia. Mary made a great lunch, and we had a great time visiting and getting to know the new grand-dog. CoCo is very energetic and LOVED Paige's hair...Paige figured CoCo had never seen blond hair, as she kept trying to bite it. I did get to have a couple of conference calls, so work was never to far off the radar.
After a nice walk with dad, CoCo and Paige, we headed to Port Orchard to stay with my friend Maureen and her husband Terry. They have a beautiful house on Long Lake and are amazing hosts. Terry made an excellent dinner of steaks, salad, rice...etc etc., but the highlight was visiting and getting caught up.
