Thanks for joining Ken and I on another mini-adventure! We knew last summer that Ken was going to be just shy of the needed miles to keep his 1k status, so had planned a trip to Bali during the Thanksgiving holiday. However, his work was not cooperating, so had to cancel at the last minute. While sitting on the couch enjoying coffee last Sunday, Ken looked at me and said...how about we go to Paris for the weekend? Me, blank stare back. Huh? For you that know me, I am the first to hop a plane for a fun weekend. However, we were still trying to piece together another trip to Asia around Christmas, and it was like a never-ending puzzle.
Nevertheless, let's spin the globe and see 1) Where can go for less than the cost of our house and 2) has the right fare class so we can use our global upgrades and 3) nonstop. Amsterdam! But, since both of us have been to Amsterdam, I thought it might be fun to go someplace different and we are now headed to Brugge, Belgium.
We got on our plane in Houston, got settled into our nice comfy pods, got to know our very nice flight attendant and waited. Mechanical, not good. After about an hour, the captain told us that we would not be going anywhere on that plane but they had another but had to get it ready and pull it to the gate. Off the plane we go, back to the Club, where we hung for another hour.
Finally made it on the plane, back in our comfy seats and off we went. 2 hours late, but at least it was a plane that worked. Had a nice dinner, glass of wine, watched Boyhood and cuddled up with our duvets for a nice few hours of sleep!
