Only a two hour bus journey to KL from Melaka. We knew we were there when we saw our first glimpse of the towers in the distance - very impressive, the driver telling us to get off the bus was also a giveaway. Hot and humid - seems to be a theme. We eventually found a great guesthouse "Number8" Chilled out place with water, tea, coffee and fruit available on demand - taken for granted at home but a real luxury here. First impressions are of a dirtie...

We haven't updated this for a while so we'll see how we get on. Melaka: As the bus took us into Melaka we were not overly impressed considering the lonely planet raved about it. We don't want to use the work dump....... Managed to get a room in a cheap guest house in the centre of China town. Did the usual tourist things e.g wandered around the centre of town, sampled typical Nonya food and checked out the tacky night market. The highlight was buying genuine...
