Hi Folks, after 18 hours travelling in total we finally arrived in humid Singapore. The first thing to note about the start of our honeymoon was that we didn't get to sit together for the 13 hour flight, probably great for Tanya but a bit boring for me....I tried to annoy the woman next to me but she wasn't having any of it. On the plus side we were treated to a glass of champagne each for the inconvenience....like that would make up for it...although it was nice champagne.

Frirst impressions of Singapore is of a clean, modern, multicultural place....oh and as expensive if not more so than the UK.

Our hotel room is...how would an estate agent put it....bijoux with private views. Meaning small and with a beutiful view of a wall from our window. On the plus side....location is actually great.

Pretty shattered after the journey, so grabbed some dinner (noodles of course and an ice cold beer....hmmm beer) by the river, explored a little (got lost) and headed back for some disturbed sleep.

By the way, the humidity is ridiculous - Can't tell if it is sweat or moisture from the air dripping off me.....must be the air.

Spent much of the following day wandering oround the colonial district (F1 race circuit) and looking for bus stops for the city tours. Caught the buss to Orchard road....I have never....ever....EVER seen so many malls in 1 place. How many designer shops do people need here? Tanya was in heaven. I was ion HELL.

In the evening we decided to brave little India, once we actually found it that is - Tanya and maps - what can I say! Although she thinks it was my sense of direction that let us down. I was deternined to have noodles every day here but buckled at the last minute and had garlic chicken and rice..very nice. So far the food has been delicious although slightly oily - the last place we ate at was called Fatty's.

Oh, little India was just like big India but no cows, no mess and fewer people.

So far no hassle from anyone, all the people seem genuinely nice.

Tomorrow the plan is: Breakfast noodles, day zoo followed by night safari and more noodles.
