We had booked a day on the water today which began after buffet breakfast with a walk to the jetty. Our boat was fairly small but crewed with some young Malaysian lads, probably only 20 years old. They handled the boat better than the english language fortunately but we got the idea of what they wanted. Headed out to Coral Island at high speed (200hp engine on the back) and had a snorkel from the beach there. This was a bit disappointing but then they took us to some rocks which was sensational. Fish and nice coral everywhere. Used the GoPro video camera underwater too which was interesting. After an hour or so motored to a village on the northern end of the island and had a nice lunch in a restaurant. We haven't had any 'western' food for as long as we can remember and I've eaten lots of chilli! Next stop was a spot nearby then a Marine Park area where we took food to feed the fish which got them swarming around us! I managed to spike my foot on a sea urchin which was disappointing but the boat driver said to break up the imbedded spike by hitting it hard which something and then it will just come right! Here's hoping that is true but Lisa did enjoy whalloping my foot with her snorkel tube! Her aim wasn't very good and that's the bit that's now hurting! It's 6.15PM here now. Must be time for a beer!
