Day 9

Checked out the Outback Centre in Port Augusta before doing the short drive (2hrs) to Wilpena in the Flinders Ranges where we set up camp.

In the afternoon did an off road trail through the impressive Brachina Gorge which traverses 150 million years of geological history in 20km. This crosses what was once an inland sea bed and the further west, the newer the sedimentary deposits become. Earth crustal movements and ice ages forced these rocks to the surface, exposing the layers. Very interesting in a geeky sort of way.
