What a crap nights sleep. I think I was so worried about missing my flight in the morning that I was awake every 30min!

Well in what I now believe is typical qantas we have been delayed... possible boarding call might happen at 9:30? We were supposed to fly out at 7:10. I could have slept soundly.

Been chatting to a young guy in the army, Hamish. Great bloke, loves the army, he's heading home to surprise his family.

Qantas has just shouted us breakfast... Josiah may beat me to Alice at the rate we are going but hey that's all good. Qantas has just cancelled the flight... have to pickup the checked in bags and try to find alternate ways to Alice... watch this space...

Ok so after an hours queue I have another ticket to Alice. Boarding at 2:40pm they will provide a lunch voucher. Haven't gotten ahold of Josiah as yet - he must be in the air. He can't drive the campervan as he's under 25 so I guess he'll have to wait for me to arrive now. Should be there 5pm?

Had to collect my bag and queue back up again to drop it off. Feel like I'm on a merry go round. Went back through a second time and yet again they checked me for explosives! Must be the cowboy hat...

It's now occured to me that the campervan place will be shut by the time I arrive... sure enough I land at 4:30 and they shut at 4. There is no after hours pickup however after several phone calls I have managed to find a car park at a camping ground, where 'mighty campers' will drop the van off for us. We need to go back to the hire place in the morning to complete the booking.

So far a long wait at Darwin - have been here since 6am. Currently 1:20 and we don't board until 2:40.

Josiah is in Alice waiting on my arrival... he can't pickup the camper as he's not 21 yet... all the little loop holes. I now know why people bring a good book when travelling.

Now 3pm and still in Darwin. At least the planes aren't falling from the sky. Woohoo a boarding call has just been announced!
