It rained through the night and most of the morning, so a bit of a slow start for the day.
I took a drive to Penguin. It's a quaint little town named after the Fairy Penguin in 1861 by botanist Ronald Gunn. There's quite a few statues of penguins throughout the town, even some of the rubbish bins have penguins on them. There's one large 3m high penguin.
Significantly this week, all the penguins are dressed in pink for the McGrath Foundation which raises funds for Breast Cancer care.
I then ventured to Burnie. It's a larger town, or city, or whatever, with most of the well-known chain shops. One thing that surprised me was the lack of free parking. It's paid parking everywhere in the city centre. Even at the supermarket! I stocked up on some items I had forgotten, and then headed back to my camp at Forth.
So not a very big touristy day.
