I woke to a reasonably clear day, and decided to walk up "The Nut" which is a mesa that Stanley is famous for. There is a chairlift, but since I'm intending to walk a lot on this trip, I thought why not use the walking track. It's about a 150m rise and 420m long climb, so it's quite steep. Nothing planned for except to do the walking tracks at Leven Canyon. I was advised by the lady at Cradle Mountain to take the high walk, and then the stairs DOWN to the lower track. She was right. The walk to Cruikshank's lookout was a nice gentle slope, and didn't take too long. The lookout was high up, and overlooked the canyon and river below.
