Sorry we have been pretty lame with our blog, we have just been really busy and had no internet access!
We understand the last we told you was that we were thinking of doing the bridge climb in Sydney - well we did it!!!! We got up early, grabbed a coffee and headed towards the massive bridge! We had our breath tested for alcohol and put on our jump suits! We set off along the platform all wired up until we got to the ladders. Here we climbed up 3 flights of ladders and came up between lanes 6 and 7 of the toll road. We continued to climb until we hit the summit, the views were amazing if only we could have taken our cameras up! We climbed up on the east side where they let the fireworks off at New Year and came down the west side! We got a certificate and a lovely windswept group photo! That evening we went to the Sydney Opera House to watch The Silver Rose, a ballet. We had a glass of wine in the Opera Bar, it was an amazing experience!
Tuesday we got the Greyhound to Newcastle, we stayed in a really nice hostel and spent alot of time on the beach. We saw wild dolphins in the sea, so close to all the surfers. We then treated ourselves to scrambled egg on toast, first toast in two months!!! It was amazing!
Wednesday we spent the morning at the beach we were the only ones there! That evening we left to go to Byron Bay!
Thursday morning we arrived in Byron Bay after our 11 hour coach journey, we went for a walk around and grabbed a coffee. We loved Bryon Bay from the moment we first arrived. It was so hot at 8am. We went to the beach for the day.
Friday we got the Happy Coach to Nimbin. Nimbin is a small hippy town and we enjoyed it here, we only tried the milkshakes and iced coffees!!!! We then went out for a bit of a dance in the evening at Coco Mangas! It was good fun, we were back in bed by 1.30am!
Saturday was our last day in Byron Bay and we walked up to the lighthouse, which is on the most easterly point of Australia! This was hard work but the views were stunning! We got the Greyhound to Surfers Paradise and arrived here at 5pm. We bumped into Jo and Patrick who we met in Thailand and signed up for the 'Big Night Out'! We had a really good time and let our hair down thanks to raspberry vodka's!
Yesterday we headed to the beach and caught up with Jo and Patrick in the evening. It was lovely to see them again!
This morning we went to the beach (again!), left about 12pm as we had to get the Greyhound to Brisbane! Arrived here and got a free dinner which was lovely, we are having an evening of sorting stuff out then probably early to bed.
