We have been to Taupo and this was a very exciting place for us. First of all we decided to do a skydive from 15,000 feet!!! We actually weren't too nervous about doing this as we only booked it that day. We got to the skydiving base about 3.30pm and were geared up to go by 4pm! Once in the plane and strapped to Brad Rock and Elad Berger we jumped out. Rachael was first followed by Kylie 2 seconds later after an attractive exit photo! The freefall was amazing, we both had no idea what was going on for the first 10 seconds but had a camera in our face! Over 60 seconds of freefall our shoots came out perfectly, first time and we floated around in the sky. It took 5-10 minutes to get down. Rachael was a pro and landed on her feet standing up, Kylie, not such a pro landed on her bum - had lots of padding!!! The view was beautiful over Lake Taupo and we could see the snow covered mountains. To celebrate our great achievement we went out for wine and beers and a pub quiz!!
The next day we walked to Huka Falls and Craters of The Moon, only about 12kms.
Yesterday for a rest we got up at 5am and did the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, this is about an 8 hour hike up snowy mountains! The view was stunning, it was hard work even with our crampons and our ice axes! It was so unreal, not something Kylie and Rachael do. We have never been anywhere quite so nice for lunch! Finally got back to the hostel about 5.30pm, we were very tired and just wanted to chill out so we went to some natural hot pools under the stars, this was amazing.
Today we have sat on a bus all day but have finally arrived in Wellington, we intend to be here for about 3 days and have arrived the weekend of the big Rugby game against South Africa! Sweet!!!!

Tony and Sheila Meant to give this five stars but stuffed up again! Sheila's gone for a lie down with palpitations after reading your blog. Is there anything you will not try? Keep it up. Love T & S
Mum, Dad and Paul Hi you two. E njoyed the Blog. The skydiving sounds great, but I don't think I would have the courage to do it. I think you both did the right thing, and suddenly decide to do it, and not have long to think about it. Take care. Love, M. D. and P. xxx
